Local Beaches
Hythe
Great for swimming, the shingle beach at Hythe drops away relatively steeply, so that you don't have to wade out too far to get to water deep enough for swimming. Watersports such as windsurfing, sailing etc. and fishing are also very popular on this beach. Along the sea front are a hotel, a restaurant/bar, swimming pool, ice cream stall, toilet facilities etc. and there is a fish & chip shop just five minutes walk from the shore.

Dymchurch
A very popular seaside resort, particulary with the kids! Dymchurch has a beautiful sandy beach, ideal for donkey rides, kite flying, sandcastle building... or just a spot of sun bathing. Along the seawall are toilet facilities and a first aid post. Fish & chips, ice cream, candy floss and amusements are all just a couple of minutes from the beach.

Folkestone
The majority of the seafront at Folkestone consists of shingle beaches surrounding the old amusement park at the foot of the cliffs, however, if you venture eastwards, through the harbour, you will find a beautiful secluded sandy beach at the bottom of the East Cliff. It's proximity to the harbour means that this small beach is served with it's fairshare of fresh seafood stalls and fish & chip shops, but it also has ice cream stalls and of course toilet facilities. Warning - can get VERY busy in good weather!
